So CNN has called the election for Obama, thanks to Ohio -- and, specifically, Cuyahoga County (eg Cleveland)!

Here's a nice picture from Cuyahoga County. Coventry folks, ready to swing the election:

Hessler Street; the taller ones are probably registered voters:

I'm so proud of my home county! Cleveland takes so much undeserved crap, I really love to see the presidential candidates out courting votes in Parma and Lakewood this time of year.

LMAO, never lived there. Was just talking about your Natty reference. Used to drink that stuff like water, and just the thought of drinking it makes me sick now.

Those damn attached images almost never show up for me. Sometimes they appear days later, but never soon after they are posted.

Love the Charm City, best decision I've ever made to move out to the east coast.

A Boh will be consumed in your honor. However I will certainly miss Ohio and being able to enjoy Great Lakes Christmas Ale this holiday season.

enjoy the runny poop the next day too ;)

Glad you are enjoying the inner harbor (and the block) How could you ever miss Ohio? I miss Balmer and Annapolis: great drinking towns with music (and sports in the Charm).
We should have a beer swap during Xmas...
Continued good luck to you scotch_glass.

I am still not allowed in Fran O'Brien's in the Annapolis City Square from a complete misunderstanding on the part of the bouncer I knocked out by pulling a cigarette vending machine over on his head in 1983.

McGarvey's and The Afterdeck loved me.

And for anyone who’d like to celebrate (or, if you’re unhappy, block it all out), here’s a great Cuyahoga County show:

http://archive.org/details/gd1973-12-06.sbd.remaster.102750.flac16

And then, whether you’re happy, miserable or lukewarm (probably the vast majority, LOL), I hope everyone can agree that the best thing that could happen would be for politicians to learn to WORK TOGETHER.

I sincerely hope that, someday soon, they will stop the name calling and vilifying, stop the obstructing, let go of the juvenile idea about Always Getting One’s Own Way (or one’s Party’s/Church’s/etc.), and try to figure out that sometimes the Evil Other Guy actually DOES have a point and that, once in a while, you can get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right … even if you're a politician or an ideologue or a party loyalist :-)

Happy Rest of Election Eve and Coming Years, y’all. Whichever way your pleasure tends.

well said, although the hardened pessimist in me doesn't see that happening. Too many people in politics are butt-hurt (I must thank my daughter for that expression) over the past few years and if time has shown us nothing recently, these blowhards (on both sides) really have only one skill: carry a grudge. I can only hope I am proven wrong.

Rat cat alley roll them bones. need that cash to feed that jones
And the politicians throwing stones
Singing ashes, ashes all fall down.
Commissars and pin-striped bosses role the dice
Any way they fall guess who gets to pay the price.
Money green or proletarian gray, selling guns instead of food today.
So the kids they dance, they shake their bones
While the politicians throwing stones
Singing ashes, ashes all fall down.

I know that people can change for the better & that the spirit of cooperation will overcome the spirit of contention in all. "How soon?" is my concern.

As for Throwin Stones, I like the post Berlin-wall changes,

"Anymore the pin-striped bosses own the dice
Any way they fall guess who gets to pay the price.
Money green it the only way, you can buy a whole ... government today"

(If you know the ..., join me in praying/pondering that, in spite of it all, God hasn't damned today's governments).

While its true that, "...if you plant ice you're gonna harvest wind," I prefer, "God bless us, every one;" (to me, proof of God is simply that we are still here...)

Patience, Peace & Love

See here how everything
Lead up to this day
And it's just like any other day
That's ever been
Sun going up and then
The sun going down
Shine through my window
And my friends they come around
Come around, come around

The people might know, but the people don't care
That a man can be as poor as me
Take a look at poor Peter, he's lying in pain
Now let's come run and see
Run and see
Run and see
Run, run and see, and see
